Being a nurse is a tough job. Being a nursing student or a nursing educator is just as tough, if not tougher. To get into a nursing program requires a mastery of the English language and the the ability to solve algebraic equations. More than a fundamental knowledge of biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology and Chemistry is also required to start a nursing program. After these requirements are met the nursing courses begin and they span every field from maternity and pediatric to geriatric nursing. Then, to make it even more difficult, at the end of a nursing program which spans several years of school, a comprehensive exam called the N-CLEX is required to become a nurse.
